Marion's Red Christmas Door inspiring hope | Community Spirit
Title (Max 100 Characters)
MARION, SC (WMBF) Employees and city officials in Marion have decided to use a little Christmas spirit to turn a tragedy into a holiday miracle.
The empty lot on Main Street in Marion was once the home of three businesses, destroyed by a fire in the summer of 2011. In an effort to transform the space and generate hope this season, City of Marion employees placed a Red Christmas Door on the empty lots to symbolize the possibility of the future. The space is also decorated with a nativity and more than 10,000 Christmas lights.
Main Street's Red Christmas Door even has its own Facebook page where citizens have uploaded their own photos and memories.
