Marion man dies in weekend crash
MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - One man is dead after a crash in Marion County Sunday afternoon.
Cpl. Bob Baras with the South Carolina Highway Patrol tells WMBF News that a Ford Explorer was traveling south on U.S. 501 Bypass around 2:30 p.m. when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Baras explains the SUV ran off the left side of the road, hit a pole and flipped. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson identified that driver as Wallace Carlos Fashion. Fashion died of massive head trauma incurred during the collision. He lived just outside the City of Marion.
