FMU’S SGA President elected governor of SC Student Legislature

SOUTH CAROLINA – Cody Simpson, a senior from the Home Branch community of Clarendon County, will follow in the footsteps of former S.C. Gov. Robert McNair, Lee Atwater, U.S. Rep. Liz Patterson and S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster and other notable leaders, serving as governor of the S.C. Student Legislature (SCSL). 

Simpson, who is the president of the FMU Student Government Association (SGA), was elected governor by delegates from universities across the state and will take office in January.

Lincoln traveling exhibit to open at CCU

  “Lincoln: The Constitution and the Civil War,” a national traveling exhibition that focuses on Abraham Lincoln’s struggle to meet the constitutional challenges of the Civil War, opens at Kimbel Library at Coastal Carolina University on Oct. 12 and runs through Nov. 28. The exhibit is free and open to the community, and several lectures and events are planned during its showing.

The Mullins High School has announced their sports summer camp for this year so come bring your kids for a week of sports and fun.

The activities will take place at MHS from June 25 to June 29.

Francis Marion University softball coach Stacey Vallee has announced the signing of outfielder and third baseman Kelsi Thuer of Middletown, Del., to a national letter of intent, while also announcing that middle infielder Kristie Hanewinckel of Dunnellon, Fla., will transfer to FMU from St. Johns River State College.<?xml:namespace prefix = o />

The Cobras will open the season the weekend of August 30-September 2 with all five in season sports hitting the road.
